Gilbert Public Schools Board Brief for January 8, 2019The Governing Board met for an Organizational Meeting, Brief Board Business Meeting, and Work Study on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  The Organizational Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.

Mr. Reed Carr was nominated and approved as Board President with a 5-0 vote.

Dr. Charles Santa Cruz was nominated and approved as Board Clerk with a 5-0 vote.

The following 'Internal Organization' agenda items were discussed and approved with 5-0 votes:

3.01 Times of Meetings

3.02 Review and Approval of Rules of Order

3.03 Board Appointments to Various Committees


The Organizational Meeting was adjourned and the Brief Board Business Meeting was called to order.

The Consent Agenda and Consent Agenda items were approved with 5-0 votes.

The Brief Board Business Meeting was adjourned and the Work Study was called to order.

Mr. Jason Martin, Executive Director of Elementary Schools and Ms. Dawn Antestenis, Director of Marketing and Communications, delivered a presentation on ‘Proposed Boundary Changes for 2019/20’ to the Governing Board.  Both presenters and Mr. Shane McCord, Superintendent, answered questions from Board members.

Due to a date conflict for one of the board members, the next Governing Board Business Meeting, scheduled for January 22nd, was moved to Wednesday, January 23rd, starting at 6:30 pm. 

The meeting adjourned at 8:30pm.
