Reading Renaissance is an extension of the computerized independent reading program called Accelerated Reader. It is a supplement to the district adopted reading series. The Accelerated Reader computer program allows students to read a variety of authentic literature from within each school site's wide-selection of titles and take a computerized comprehension quiz. The Accelerated Reader program keeps track of the books students have read independently and how well they understood them. A list of books for each school can be viewed on the schools' websites and is accessible to students through their classroom computers.
