Teachers New to the Profession . . .
- Are paired with a site-based mentor
- Review GPS district curriculum, goals, and procedures with their mentor
- Receive on-going professional assistance through the Mentoring Cycle
- Receive feedback and dialogue with their mentor using both formal observations and informal learning opportunities
- Are provided the opportunity to observe and learn from veteran teachers
- Attend 20 hours of professional development courses that allow teachers to enhance their skills in the areas of Rigor, Relevance & Relationships.
Teachers New to GPS, but with Previous Teaching Experience . . .
- Are paired with a Department/Grade Level Mentor
- Review GPS district curriculum, goals, and procedures with their mentor
- Receive on-going professional assistance from their mentor
- Attend 20 hours of professional development courses that allow teachers to enhance their skills in the areas of Rigor, Relevance & Relationships.
